Silhouette Giveaway

I've seen these great machines on many design blogs. The latest giveaway is over at A Soft Place to Land. I am dying to win this. Pick me!!! There are so many great things you can do with it, but the main one I desperately want to try is making vinyl lettering for my walls!
Wish me luck!

3 years and counting...

For our 3rd anniversary, we took a weekend trip to Richmond. We stayed at the 5-star, 5-diamond Jefferson Hotel (where London works). It was INCREDIBLE!!!

We were able to have dinner with some friends and then spend the rest of the time with London and Graham traipsing about Richmond/Carytown shopping and eating. One night we went to a dinner theatre in Petersburg - so much fun.

Even though it was just a weekend, it was nice to get away from Lynchburg and just spend time together as a family. Things are getting ready to start back up at Liberty so any time off is much needed and enjoyed. It's hard to believe the summer is almost over with!

One very happy note - my parents are moving back to the East Coast...FINALLY!!!! They should head out of Powell in the next day or two and hopefully arrive in one piece and good spirits by the weekend. We can't wait to see them and have them closer to us!!

Lemaire

Well, Scott returned from his trip to Texas on Tuesday. I'm glad he is finally home to stay! The evening after he got home we headed over to Richmond with Liberty and AJ for our 7:45pm reservation at Lemaire. Lemaire is an old restaurant in the historic Jefferson Hotel that has been revamped and will be reopening July 8th. (I'm told it's named for Thomas Jefferson's personal chef.) London got us in for a test meal which was absolutely incredible. We had fried green tomatoes, oysters, scallops, crabmeat - those were just the appetizers!! For our entrees we had filet mignon, crabcakes, and salmon, topped off with incredible desserts. It was honestly the finest restaurant I've ever eaten in. We loved it. The hotel is also amazingly beautiful. We are so proud of London for getting out there and landing such a high major job!! I can't wait until the next time we get to dine there!!!

Teeth!!!

Oh, I almost forgot!! Graham has 6 teeth now (4 on the top and 2 on the bottom)!!!

Isn't his smile beautiful...haha!!

He's just about ready to start crawling (a little late if you ask me, but that means he's not in to everything yet)!

Crazy Days

Well the last few weeks have been a flutter of activity for our family. While we were in Boston, London found out that she got a part in a play in Richmond for the Fall...very exciting!! She also went in for an interview for a restaurant server's position at the historic Jefferson Hotel in downtown Richmond and walked out as their new special parties/event planner...very, very exciting!! Scott and I are so proud - we really feel she will excel in this position. We're excited to go for a preview in the next couple of weeks.

My sister, Liberty, got married a little over a week ago...such beautiful wedding and reception. It was great to have all our family and AJ's (Liberty's husband) in for the big event. Our house was a circus for a few days, but now it's too quiet. Of course, Scott has found out that he likes Wii golf, so that has kept our house from being too quiet.

It's hard to believe the summer is about halfway over. We have the beach bug and are hoping to somehow find time to get away for a couple of days!

Boston Bound

Last we week after much travel and separation, our little bunch met up in Boston, MA, for our first real family vacation. Scott had been speaking at a youth event in Canada, so he flew down to Boston when he was finished. And London, Graham, and I flew up to Boston to meet him. I must say that Graham should've earned a pair of wings for his first flight - he was so good!!! Our first evening their was humorous and frustrating - trying to find our way around a city we weren't familiar with. We also had a blunder or two with Jack, the GPS. But once we got the hang of things, the next 3 days were a blast. We spent time visiting some of the historic sights, walking around town, shopping (of course), visiting the beach, and just being together as a family. It was much needed and very enjoyable. Now where should we go for the next one?
